The test results are in, and you will not believe the outcome!
Since taking on the goal to naturally regulate my hormones in January, the following has occurred:
1) In December my FHS was 41, in March it was 16! Yes, it went from 41 to 16 folks! This is quite a miracle, and let me tell you why: first off, you might remember from past posts, but FSH is what Reproductive Endocrinologist use to determine the health of your ovaries. Women that are fertile have an FSH below 10, the lower the number, the more fertile you are. (My older sister has an FSH of 2.5) As you age, or your ovaries do, this number goes up. Anything above 10 is bad if you are trying to conceive. Anything above 20 makes conception impossible. In December mine was 41, which was pretty much on par for what I had been seeing in my lab tests up to that point. To drop from 41 to 16 is extremely unusual, unheard of, and pretty much impossible......but it happened! What this means, if my new lifestyle can drop my FSH so drastically, there might be a possibility that I can get it back to normal. Once again, the doctors say this is impossible, but we are already doing the impossible by the current test results, so you just never know!
2) My periods are BACK and almost on a 'normal' cycle. Once again, this is another almost miracle, as my doctors said they would shortly be stopping completely. Prior to the miscarriage my periods were completely random, 4 months, 6 months, 2 months and so forth. There was no rhyme of reason to the randomness. For the last three cycles I have had 32 days, 32 days and 23 days. Not quite normal, but my body appears to be getting closer and doing it naturally! Having a normal cycle means that there is a possibility, of actually having a chance, of just maybe conceiving.....naturally. Which I have been told is impossible, but I have been told that a lot and I am starting to doubt it.
3) Additionally, my hormone levels seem to be fighting to come back to regular levels! My progesterone and estrogen are within normal range, on the low side, but still in the right range and things seem to be finding their balance.
I am happy, thrilled, and excited about the results, but in the back of my mind I am nervous that it might all turn back around and head in the wrong direction. I have changed so many things in my lifestyle, it is hard to figure out exactly what changes have helped the most, and not being able to pinpoint the cause means I have to continue living this way, which is tedious, expensive and hunger inducing. I know it is all worth it, just slightly difficult to maintain.
Next blood work will be done in May....keep you posted on the results!
